TAST / Week 15 Oyster Stitch
Boy what a nightmare! I have used this stitch before but it was quite some time ago, so needless to say it took me a bit of time to get the hang of it again. I must admit that I had to get out a book for this one. I grabbed my copy of "Floral Stitches" by Judith Baker Montano (page 66) and followed the drawn pictures there to get the stitch going right for me.
Please dont get me wrong Sharon's stitch dictionary has excellant directions but I just couldnt wrap my head around them. Once I stepped away from the computer and studied the pics in the book I saw what i was doing wrong.
This first sample has a lot of failed attempts. The first 2 rows and the top circle of stitches are improperly worked.
By the 3rd row and the bottom flower I had it figured out.
So ......I will further explore this stitch later today. I have some ideas for working it now that I have the mechanics down properly. I will post more samples later on.
