Tast /Week 16 Palistrina Stitch
This is my sample for the Palistrina Stitch it is worked in several sizes of perle cotton on 14 ct. Aida cloth. I like this stitch and have used it before. It reminds me to some extent of buttonhole stitch with a knot . It seems as if you can use alot of the concepts for this stitch as you would for buttonhole stitches. It lends itself to working curves very well and shapes can be stitched nicely with it.
I think it would be an excellent stitch to use for outlining paisleys, monograms and the like.

I am also working another sample for this week. I am sure it wont be finished by Sunday but I will show the progress as I go.
This is worked on a piece of felt . A new concept for me as I havent created embroidery on felt in this manner before.
I started by marking various sized circles randomly over the felt and stitched them with the Palistrina stitch. I filled the centers with French knots to make them look like flowers.
I have Stem stitched around the square to frame the piece.
