I'm playing catch up on my stitching projects this week. I've been working on other things and haven't had time for stitching. I'm so happy to be catching up and have fun with the challenge stitches. Soooo, let's get right to the photos.
This first photo is a flower stitched with 25 wrap bullions and 2 strands of floss. The center of the flower will have a button when I get to that phase of stitching. I like to wait to add buttons and beads until the thread work is done or nearly done to prevent the hassles of trying to hoop around them.
The next photo is a group of flowers that I call spoke flowers for lack of a better name for them. They are 25 wrap bullions from Size 12 perle cotton. They will have beads added to the centers later.
This next photo is a nice seam treatment from size 8 perle cotton inspired by Sharon's samples. The bullion knots are 50 wraps. After stitching all the bullions I added a row of chain stitch along each side with the same perle cotton thread.
I really like the look I got from this, it kind of reminds me of some of the braid type trims I have in my stash.
I really like the things that can be done with bullion knots and I do use them often. Look at my previous posts to see a dimensional piece that also has bullion knots.
